9th Edition of BCIC Corporate Golf Tournament 2019

Mr. B N Puttaraju, Managing Partner, The Chalet with 40 points, won the coveted ninth edition of the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce’s (BCIC) Corporate Golf Tournament hosted at Prestige Golfshire Club in Bangalore. Mr. Puttaraju edged out Mr. Arvind Rathode, Senior Vice President,  Virtusa by just one point, who finished First runner-up followed up by Mr. Murali Balgar, Director, Disha Retail Fixtures with 38 points who bagged the second runner up trophy.

Over the past eight editions BCIC’s Corporate Golf Tournament has steadily been gaining traction among corporate leaders, bureaucrats and celebrities alike in the city and is a keenly awaited event.

Mr. Kishore Alva, President BCIC & President and Executive Director, Adani - Udupi Power Corporation Ltd. said: “This event has turned into a signature event for the Chamber as Bangalore golfers keenly look forward to participate in this prestigious event” He further added: “One of the key indicators to gauge the popularity of this event is the presence and support of top corporate houses sponsoring and participating in this event in large numbers”.

Mr. Ahmedali, Past President and Chairman of the BCIC Corporate Golf Tournament who himself is an avid golfer said: “Golf is not only a very technically demanding sport; it is also an ideal field to draw out leadership lessons for the workplace. Many organisations are increasingly borrowing notes from golf on leadership. Perhaps this is the reason why often it is stated that Golf as a sport develops the spirit of ownership.”

Apart from the usual excitement this event has created an unenviable platform for corporate leaders to meet and discuss on several issues in a very conducive and a relaxed environs. The ambiance of the `Greens' creates a stronger bonding among the corporate community for a more meaningful exchange of ideas and views on business with an accent on translating their competitive spirit of the game into their portals of business.

This year's tournament witnessed participation of golfers from top companies like JSW, Toyota Kirloskar, ITC, Wipro Technologies, Praxair, IBM, Samsung, Sansera, Accenture, Britannia, Ramanashree, Sona Valliappa Group, Epson to name a few vied for the trophy along with top Bureaucrats at the Tournament.

In all over 100 golfers participated at the 9th Edition of the BCIC Corporate Golf Tournament 2019.
