Lake Rejuvenation Project under the aegis of BCIC CSR Committee - reg

Dear Sir / Madam,
Greetings from BCIC!
As you are all aware, CSR Committee of BCIC has conceived several engagements (Handover of ipads/computers to Government school, Vaccination drive, Eye camps, Tree sapling plantation, Lake Rejuvenation etc) and in this regard has been constantly in connect with various Government agencies seeking details / requirements etc.
The attached file released by BBMP authorities has identified 8 zones towards lake rejuvenation project with a estimate of Rs1500 lakhs. As a BCIC member organisation, we would request members to be part of this Lake Rejuvenation Project (perhaps 1 or 2 zones) with maximum contribution. BCIC will act as a Nodal Agency and will bring the interested members to interact with NGO’s (Labournet / Bioata) who are spearheading these lake rejuvenation projects. Necessary CSR certificates will be issued by the NGO after successful completion of the project.
What is lake rejuvenation project?
This project will help clear the lake of solid wastes, silt and invasive plant species, improve the lake’s storage capacity by 50%, enhance ground water recharge and improve water quality.
Why is it important?
Proper lake function can ease the impact of floods and droughts by storing large amounts of water and releasing it during shortages. Lakes also work to replenish ground water, positively influence water quality of downstream watercourses, and preserve the biodiversity and habitat of the area.
Very soon CSR committee will be organising a Webinar from labournet / Bioata to all members on lake rejuvenation projects and process to be part of this great environment initiative.
