Companies Amendment Act, 2019 – Section 135: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

India is the first country in the world to make corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandatory, following an amendment to the Companies Act, 2013 in April 2014. Businesses can invest their profits in areas such as education, poverty, gender equality, and hunger as part of any CSR compliance.

With the objective of bringing in an awareness on the Companies Amendment Act 2019 of Section 135 of Companies Act, 2013 pertaining to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) under the aegis of its CSR Expert Committee is organizing the Session on “Companies Amendment Act, 2019 – Section 135: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)” addressed by Mr. Anup Vijay Kulkarni, Sr. Associate, J Sagar Associates on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 4.00 to 6.30 pm at the CR Board Room, BCIC Office

      Mr. Anup Vijay Kulkarni

      Senior Associate, J Sagar Associates

      Anup Kulkarni is a Fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and is also enrolled with the All India Bar Counsel. He advises on areas relating to Corporate Secretarial & Compliances under various applicable corporate laws including Foreign Exchange Regulations. He actively assists in setting up subsidiaries of foreign companies /Special Purpose Vehicles, as well as Branch and Liaison offices in India. 

      He has undertaken Compliance, audits and legal due diligence exercises with particular emphasis on RBI Guidelines, CDSL & NSDL Audits, Concurrent Audits of Depository Participants and Company Secretarial Audit. He also assists in closing of operations of LLP’s and companies indulge voluntary winding- up of a Private Limited Companies. 

      Anup has been awarded by the Former President of India Shri. K.R.Narayanan, which is considered to be the highest award in The Bharat Scouts and Guides.
