Sharing of Best Practices Industry Visit to Volvo Trucks and Honda Motor Cycles & Scooter India

We have pleasure in informing you that Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) under the aegis of its Human Resources Expert Committee is organizing an Industry Visit to Honda Motor Cycles & Scooter India and Volvo India on Friday, June 14, 2019.

  
The main objective of the visit to these facilities is to provide a unique experience to our members to witness and share good practices that could be replicated in their own plants to improve overall process efficiency, enhance production capability and quality and also look at sustainability factors through innovations and constantly focusing on customer needs.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Narsapura Volvo Group - Trucks Assembly Plant at Hosakote

Honda is the world’s largest manufacturer of two wheelers, Recognized over the world as the symbol of Honda Two Wheelers, it arrived in India as Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), a 100% subsidiary of Honda Motor Company Ltd., Japan, in 1999.

Honda’s third plant at Narsapura Industrial Area near Bengaluru, Karnataka is equipped to manufacture 1.2 million units. Utilizing production technologies refined at Manesar & Tapukara plants as starting point, the 3rd plant is employed with state-of-the-art manufacturing, automation and environment friendly technologies to deliver quality products.

Volvo Group Trucks assembly plant at Hosakote, Bangalore started its assembly operations as a KD plant in the year 1998, becoming the first European Commercial Vehicle manufacturer in India. The plant is spread across over 120 acres of land with beautiful landscape and meets ISO 9001/14001 standards with its well established Quality and Environmental Management Systems in place since the first year of operations. 

The state-of-the- art facility for Volvo Trucks houses complete cab manufacturing facility includes [welding, painting and trimming], axle assembly, the final assembly and testing for completely built trucks. Hosakote plant also has Volvo Buses Assembly Plant and Volvo Construction Equipment Customer experience center besides having a fully equipped driver training center. It employs close to 250 + employees working in various functions at the plant and during 2017, they have delivered 1041 Volvo Trucks.

      • Departure from Town Hall, Bangalore at 7.00 am sharp (Participants to assemble 6.45 am)
      • Arrival at Honda Motorcycle, Narasapura
      • Visit to plant @ 9.30 am
      • Lunch at The plant
      • Travel to Volvo Truck Plant, Hosakote
      • Visit to the Plant @ 2.00 pm
      • Departure to Bangalore @ 4.30 pm
      • Arrival at Bangalore @ 7.00 pm

      A delegate fee of Rs. 3,500/- per participant (Inclusive of tax) is being charged to defray Bus fare, food and other expenses during the industrial visit.

      The participation is restricted to 40 delegates only on first-cum-first-serve basis due to limited seats in the AC Bus Coach.
