BCIC Calls for Early Resolution of Regularisation of Land Lease Issue in Karnataka

Bangalore Camber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) today earnestly called for early resolution of the regularisation of land lease issue with a few major industrial houses in Karnataka. Over the last three years the State Government has not any policy decision on regularising land lease for industrial use.

Mr. Kishore Alva, President BCIC today speaking on regularisation of land lease aspect said: “The facilitation of Industry to setup shop in Karnataka is one of the most important tasks of the Government of Karnataka. He further said that the present controversy over regularisation of land lease of JSW Steel is unfortunate as well as unnecessary. We understand that political colour has been given to the legitimate use of land by a large Industry to setup its plant and facilities.

He was of opinion that if the State Government takes a rigid stand this will send a wrong signal and no Industry would think of investing in the State and we would lose out to the more aggressive neighbouring states.

BCIC sincerely hopes that the debate related to regularisation of Land Lease is resolved at the earliest by the State Government so that there IS no room for any ambiguity on this issue in the minds of the investing community be it domestic or overseas.
