Applications Open for BCIC Emerging Stars Awards 20 January 2020

Leading industry body to honour Karnataka-based startups that have the potential to make a difference

The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce, an eminent Chamber in the city, is on the lookout for Karnataka-based startups with budding talent and the potential to make a difference. With an undeniable startup spree in the state, BCIC finds it crucial to extend their support to these startups by recognizing their efforts through the BCIC Emerging Star Awards 2020.

“Over the years, the entrepreneurial spirit and technical prowess of Karnataka has made Bangalore the startup capital of the country. We feel it is incumbent to identify and recognize young and emerging organizations that hold the power to bring about the change.”, said Dr. L Ravindran, Co-Chairman of BCIC’s Startups and Economic Affairs Committee while expressing their intent behind this initiative.

BCIC will be working with Deloitte, to set up a comprehensive selection and evaluation process that will identify the winners. The jury panel for the awards will be headed by Mr. K Jairaj, former Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Karnataka. Mr. Devesh Agarwal, President, BCIC, in reference to the selection process said that," We will be constituting a panel of dignitaries to assess the shortlisted entries and identify the award winners.”

This event is supported by AGNII (Accelerated Growth for New India’s Innovation), IIM Ahmedabad Alumni Assn and many others giving which adds to the fervour to make it an absolute success.

The award winners will be felicitated by BCIC with a trophy and a certificate at gala ceremony in the month of April 2020. Mr. K Ravi, Co-Chairman of BCIC’s Startups and Economic Affairs Committee, remarks, “In addition to award, the chamber will also provide all participants an opportunity to network with our 900+ members to solicit business and investment. Senior members of our association, who have decades of business and managerial expertise, will also volunteer to mentor and guide startups.

The applications for the BCIC Emerging Stars Award, across 14 categories, will open on <20 January 2020> and will close on <29 February 2020>. All Karnataka-based startups incorporated in 2014 or later, with an innovative service or product are invited to apply for the award on the website (www.xxxxx.com). The detailed eligibility conditions are listed on the web site, and there will be no application fee for the participants. The chamber is also initiating an extensive outreach campaign to inform the startup community in Karnataka about the awards and is awaiting applications to flow in at the earliest.
